Mercury Nashville/19 Recordings/Interscope artist Scotty McCreery will release his much-anticipated debut album, Clear As Day, on Oct. 4, 2011.

"We've been working hard on this album not only in Nashville, but in studios across the country because I've been on the Idol tour," he says. "We're putting what I believe are the best songs we could find on it and I really hope everyone likes it. The whole experience has been amazing! I love working with my album producer, Mark Bright, and have gotten to work with some of the best musicians in Nashville!"

Scotty has been well-received by the country music industry since winning Season 10 of American Idol in May 2011, as evidenced by the fact that some of the best writers in country music wrote songs specifically for this project, which can be unheard of for a new artist. "We've got songs on it from some of the best songwriters in country music," he says. "I'm so fortunate to have so many talented people contributing to my first album."

Seventeen-year-old Scotty is the youngest male winner in the nine-year history of American Idol. A record-breaking 122.4 million votes were cast for Scotty and runner-up Lauren Alaina. The final show attracted 29.3 million viewers and 38.6 million people tuned in to see the winner's name announced.

Scotty's new album is a collection of songs in the same straight-ahead country style that captured the nation's hearts - and votes--on the show. It's the next step in a promising career that is already breaking records. "It has some old country influences and elements, but it also has a contemporary feel with fun up-tempo songs," Scotty says. "It's a good mixture. You can hear some of the influences that I grew up with, like Hank Williams, Conway Twitty and Merle Haggard, but it still has a contemporary twist and feel that keeps it up to date."

"I chose these songs because they mean a lot to me, but I think everybody can relate to these kinds of songs," Scotty says. "Clear As Day just sounded like a great album title, but it's also one of my favorite songs on the album, and I love the message behind the song which was written by Casey Beatherd, Phil O'Donnell and Adam Wheeler."

His producer, Mark Bright, says Scotty's fans will be impressed by Scotty's debut album. "His voice is shockingly great," he says. "Everybody knows Scotty has a deep voice, but what a lot of people don't know is that he has a pretty high range. His listeners will get to hear the nuances, emotions and actual range of his voice."

The album's debut single is "I Love You This Big," soared into the Top 25 after only three weeks of the release and had the highest debut on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for a new artist's first single since 1984.

It's hard not to feel a little possessive about Scotty--we watched him, a remarkably mature artist for any age, branch out and really come into his own over the course of a competition that few thought that he could win. His passionate delivery, and his voice--deep as mahogany, sweet as honey--ultimately won everyone over. So how does he deliver on that promise? Wonderfully. Clear As Day is exactly what he needed to do. The songwriting is top notch, the instrumentation is good without being treacly. Lyrics are honest, and well suited for his position in life and his hopes and dreams. We've all heard Trouble with Girls by now, which boasts a gawky sincerity sung with complete conviction--a combination impossible to refuse. You Make That Look Good is a fun country rocker with a beat that will get you stomping across the floor, looking for where you might have left your Wranglers. I love how he refuses to compromise his own spirituality in the album ender--That Old King James--blending... Read more

Scotty captured my attention on American Idol. He is wholesome, genuine and true to himself.
His music comes from the heart and speaks to all those raised in small town America with family
values passed on from generations.
His music is relevant, honest and fresh. Give him an ear, you won't regret it.

I loved the first song I heard on the American Idol Show, I Love You This Much, but, I was delighted with the entire album, every song is a hit. You will not be disappointed!! Scotty McCreery's first album is sure to be just one of many, many more to come. This young man is extremely talanted.

Five Finger Death Punch's third studio album American Capitalist firmly continues the formula which the band had established on their previous two releases, especially their sophomore release War Is The Answer. This 2011 album is comprised primarily three minute tracks full of bouncy riffs, flailing double kicks and a mixture or hard verses with radio choruses.

If you are new to the band, the best way people have found for describing them is as a mixture between elements of Vol. 3 era Slipknot and Pantera, which does a fair job of describing the band's everyman metal approach and mixture of commercial moments with stomping heavy sections.

It isn't progressive, it isn't extreme and it isn't electronic; American Capitalist is pretty much just pure and simple American Heavy Metal with a lot of melody, perhaps a too little cheap or cheesy for some more discerning listeners, but wholly enjoyable for the rest.

They avoided the sophomore curse and continue to impress. So if you told me a few years ago that no band could mix the old school power of bands like Pantera and the progressive guitar work coming out of northern Europe I would have said "can't be done". Five Finger Death Punch deliver on every level of the new metal scene on their third album American Capitalist. It has searing guitar solos, powerful vocals, meaningful lyrics and a double bass kick that will simply kick your ass. Don't believe me, just check them out.

A great album to have for knuckleheads and hard rock/metal fans alike.

For returning FFDP fans curios about the album, buy it! You will not be disappointed. All the heavy hitting riffs from Way of The Fist and all the more melodic mix of War is the Answer makes it back for an even better 3rd album. I am not let down by a single song off this album. One song you want to go crazy and start a middle of the street mosh pit and the next song youll be singing your heart out. Some songs you want to (and probably will) do both.

To any open-minded music fans looking for a new band to listen to, I suggest you pick up this album. Its got just about every side of music you could ask for. Heavy, Melodic, fast, slow, from 80's style ballad hits to the new standards of metal. Its all there.

Five Finger Death Punch has been able to turn heads and attract ears from the start and this album only adds to show their amazing abilities as musicians and song writers.
